Established in the year 2000, DAWN is a culturally responsive and survivor-centric non-profit 501(c)(3) that promotes healthy relationships and aims to reduce abuse and promote accountability in the Deaf community of the DMV area. Our organization has broadened its reach to serve Deaf victims across all demographics. With one of the largest Deaf populations in the United States residing in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, it is critical that we work together to maximize the quality of services we can provide Deaf survivors while ensuring their safety. Developing a relationship with DAWN will help us provide culturally relevant services and reduce additional trauma caused by cultural differences and language barriers.
